The Canadian Signature Experiences Collection

The Canadian Signature Experiences (CSE) collection showcases once-in-a-lifetime, authentic travel experiences that exemplify Canada’s tourism brand. CSE member businesses are able to reach key international markets through Destination Canada's global marketing campaigns, travel trade, travel media and sales programs.

Since Destination Canada (formerly the Canadian Tourism Commission) introduced the CSE collection in 2011, the program has grown from 48 to 183 members. Six Saskatchewan tourism operators currently have experiences represented in the CSE collection: La Reata Ranch, Historic Reesor Ranch, Sturgeon River Ranch, RCMP Heritage Centre/Sunset Retreat Ceremonies, Churchill River Canoe Outfitters and Sundogs Excursions.

Program Changes

Following extensive consultations between Destination Canada and the Provincial and Territorial Marketing Organizations (PMOs) in 2014, several notable changes are being introduced to the administration of CSE program.

  • The CSE program will be co-managed by Destination Canada and the PMOs. Tourism Saskatchewan will serve as the first point of contact for industry interested in applying to the program, as well as assuming greater responsibility for managing the membership application and renewal process.

  • The CSE program will have a greater emphasis on trade development and export-market readiness, although the CSEs will continue to be used by Destination Canada to influence travel media.

  • There will be no rigid application intake deadlines. Businesses that meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply when they feel ready and at their own pace, reflecting a more organic approach to building the collection.
