Chris Dekker
Appointed by the Government of Saskatchewan
Chris obtained an Honours Degree in Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. Following graduation, he worked in marketing with Maple Leaf Foods in Edmonton and as the Market Research Analyst with the North Battleford Local Economic Development Authority.
Chris has worked in the provincial government as Executive Assistant to the Minister of Revenue and Financial Services and the Minister of Health. He was appointed Assistant Press Secretary to the Premier, and also serves as the Director of Communications, and then Chief of Staff in the Office of the Official Opposition.
In 1996, Chris became the Manager of the Communications Branch for the City of Saskatoon where he produced numerous provincial and national award-winning communication strategies. Chris was appointed to the position of Manager of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Special Projects in 2005. His duties included Project Manager for the popular River Landing redevelopment initiative.
Chris is currently Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Communication for Enterprise Saskatchewan, the new special operation agency of the provincial government responsible for economic development.
He is an Accredited Public Relations Practitioner (APR), Past-President of the Saskatoon Chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society, and a Past-Director on the National Board of the Canadian Public Relations Society.
