Review of Saskatchewan Tourism System Update

The Review of the Saskatchewan Tourism System, initiated by the Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport in September 2009, is well under way. The review is being led by a consulting team from Western Management Consultants (Kent Stewart) and the Tourism Company (Jill Vandal).

A broad range of stakeholders are being consulted in the next few weeks in meetings, workshops and by telephone, to gather input on where the focus should be on improving or changing the Saskatchewan tourism system. The consulting team was at the December 2nd Tourism Saskatchewan Fall Meeting to provide an update and host a leadership panel with two senior tourism leaders.  Currently the review is still in the information-gathering stage, with a target completion date of March 2010.  The results will be communicated after completion, and recommendations will include consultative processes identified with industry stakeholders as part of implementation.
