With the theme Reaching Up – Coaching, Mentoring and Inspiring Others, this full-day conference will provide practical, progressive human resource strategies that strengthen business and offer ideas for career success and employee professional development.

The opening keynote speaker will be Kendal Netmaker, founder and CEO of Neechie Gear. Netmaker will share his success story and journey – from growing up on a Saskatchewan First Nation and living on social assistance to becoming an award-winning entrepreneur, who now inspires thousands around the globe to go after their dreams.

Netmaker was the recipient of two ABEX Awards in 2012 and, in 2015, he was the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business National Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneur of the Year and a finalist for Youth Business International Young Entrepreneur of the Year. In October, Canadian Business magazine included Netmaker in its list of 38 “Change Agents” in 2016.

Some of the biggest leaders in the tourism industry will present concurrent sessions on building a winning team of frontline staff. Internationally recognized experts from Tourism HR Canada will lead a forum for secondary and post-secondary educators.

In the evening, Tourism Saskatchewan’s 24th annual Tourism Professional Recognition Dinner will honour new nationally certified tourism professionals and journeypersons and recognize Saskatchewan’s tourism Employers of Choice. Capping the day’s events, the Tourism Ambassador Awards will celebrate industry professionals who have made outstanding contributions to tourism.

The conference is intended for mid-level managers in tourism and hospitality businesses, frontline employees considering tourism as a career, emerit-certified employees or those currently enrolled in certification, and secondary and post-secondary educators.
