Brent Hamel

Mr. Brent Hamel was born, raised, and educated in Regina.  After working with the Federal Government in Ottawa, he moved to China where he worked for the Hong Kong arm of a TSE-listed real estate development and hospitality management company.  Brent played a key role in developing innovative products to raise funds from investors in Asia for the further development of hotels across Canada.  After living overseas for a number of years, Brent returned to Canada (Calgary) where he started his own business consulting company, connecting overseas investors with Canadian companies.  He later returned to Saskatchewan and now resides in Waskesiu Lake with his family.

Brent continues to travel extensively to Asia, identifying partners for Saskatchewan businesses.  He is also a partner in commercial resort projects in Greenwater Provincial Park, Candle Lake, and Waskesiu Lake.  The Fisherman’s Cove Resort at Greenwater Provincial Park was purchased from bankruptcy over two years ago and after restructuring its business and financial plan, the Cove has seen 100% growth year-to-year.

Brent serves on the Waskesiu Chamber of Commerce, the Waskesiu Community Council, and sits on the board for a newly established Prince Albert National Park Destination Marketing Organization, which is designed to strategically market the Prince Albert National Park and area through collective pooling of human and financial resources.
