Darrell Balkwill

Mr. Darrell Balkwill is the CEO of the Whitecap Development Corporation and the Director of Economic Development for the Whitecap Dakota First Nation.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and certification as a Professional Aboriginal Economic Developer from the Council for the Advancement of Economic Development Officers (CANDO).

In 1986, Darrell began employment with the Saskatoon Tribal Council as their Economic Development Officer.  He worked with the seven-member First Nations for 16 years, assisting in the establishment of community economic development programming, planning, and project development.  For the last five years, he has worked with Whitecap Dakota First Nation in developing and implementing a sustainable community economic strategy.

Among his other positions, Darrell is currently a Director on the boards of MidSask Community Futures and Enterprise Region, Saskatoon Tribal Council Casino Holdings Corporation, Dakota Dunes Golf Links Limited Partnership, Whitecap Hotels Limited, and Ideas Inc. Business Incubator.
