Irene LeGatt
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Ms. Irene LeGatt obtained her Bachelor of Arts honours in history from the University of Saskatchewan in 1984. Her career with Parks Canada began in 1983 as a summer interpreter at Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site near Abernathy.
In her 25 years with the Parks Canada Agency, Irene has occupied a variety of positions and locations, primarily in the area of communications. She coordinated the Heritage Presentation Program at Batoche National Historic Site for five years and has worked in the area of policy and planning. Since 2001, she has served as one of the Communications Managers for Parks Canada in Saskatchewan and works extensively in the area of marketing and heritage tourism, development of heritage presentation programming, outreach activities, coordination of special events, and media relations. She also serves on several heritage and education related committees and boards.
