James Yuel

Born in Dodsland, Mr. James Yuel moved to Manitoba with his family at the age of three, where his father farmed.  He eventually returned to Saskatchewan and began a career with Interprovincial Chemicals in Saskatoon.  Experience as a laboratory technician, plant operator, and in management, prepared him for challenges of forming his own company, Prairie Industrial Chemicals Ltd.

In its 32 year history, Prairie Industrial Chemicals, now under the name of PIC Investment Group Inc., has grown to include several wholly owned operating companies with annual sales in excess of $190 million.  PIC also holds a minority interest in a number of independent companies, as well as invests in start-ups and new ventures.

James has held a number of positions on various boards and continues to sit as a Director on boards for both large established corporations (RBC Asset Management) and for small privately held businesses (Doepker Industries Inc.), as well as a number of charities.

James has extensive board level experience, serving as President of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee, and Chair of the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority and the Children’s Health and Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.  He is Governor of the RBC Asset Management Board and has received numerous awards and honours for his business accomplishments.
