Janet Olsen

Ms. Janet Olsen has established a high profile in the Saskatchewan tourism industry, primarily through her expertise in marketing and public relations.  As a Marketing Director, she has spent five years with Saskatoon Prairieland Exhibition, two years with Wanuskewin Heritage Park, and fifteen years with the Western Development Museum, developing marketing strategies, special events, and media relations.  She also delivers workshops on tourism topics.  Janet was previously involved in three entrepreneurial businesses and provides a unique perspective from both sides of the industry.

Janet has a successful history of tourism board experience, serving Tourism Saskatchewan’s Board of Directors as Vice-Chair, followed by a two-year term as Chair.  She was also Chair of the Peer Review Committee, and a member of the Marketing Advisory Council, and Chair of the West Central Tourism Region’s Marketing Committee.  Janet is a four-time recipient of the Gil Carduner Marketing Award for her achievements in Saskatchewan’s tourism industry and is currently a board member for the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) on the Canadian Sustainable Advisory Council.
