Morris McLachlan

Mr. Morris McLachlan was raised in a family tourism business that operated at Waskesiu Lake in Prince Albert National Park (PANP).  In the late 60's and early 70's, his family moved the operations just outside of Prince Albert National Park and developed the first accommodation business to stay open year round in the Waskesiu area.  Together, Morris’ family operated McPhee Lake Cabins for nearly two decades until they sold in 1989.

Morris has been fortunate to have worked in and around Waskesiu Lake his entire life.  In 1999, he began operating the three marina sites in the National Park, offering traditional marina services and expanded to include interpretive boat tours, as well as guided services to Grey Owl’s Cabin.  Morris employs approximately 10 people and has experienced success in all aspects of the business with continual growth each year.

In the off season, Morris is an instructor at SIAST Woodlands Campus for the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Program.  He sits on the Board of Directors for the Waskesiu Chamber of Commerce and is active in the Saskatchewan folk music scene.
