Rod and Denyse Simair

Internationally acclaimed ceramic artists, Mr. Rod Simair and Mrs. Denyse Simair, have represented Canada in major exhibitions in Europe and North America.  In 2005, Rod and Denyse were awarded the highest international honour, Le Grand Prix du Jury, for their work in Crystalline Porcelain, at Crystallines 2005 in France.  The husband and wife team combine Rod’s hand thrown porcelain designs harmoniously with Denyse’s macro-crystalline glazes.

Denyse grew up in Yorkton, trained in Regina, worked as a Saskatchewan dental nurse, and then stayed home raising their four children.  Rod grew up on a farm near Springside, attended high school in Yorkton, served in the Canadian Armed Forces, and then worked for SaskTel.

Rod and Denyse currently reside and work in their studio on an acreage near Prince Albert.
